ST.PAUL, Minn.. — The Parkside women's soccer team improved to 3-0 on the season on Sunday afternoon, downing the Concordia- St. Paul Golden Bears by a final score of 2-0.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The 3-0 start to the season is the best since 2014 when the team finished 18-1-3.
- Parkside kept the clean sheet despite playing a player down for the final 60 minutes of the contest due to a red card.
- Mia Guyton came off the bench and made seven saves for the Rangers.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Parkside got the game started with a bang in the fourth minute.
Grace Breuchel played a long ball forward where
Emily Mikkelson was able to one-touch a pass to
Kate Brown for what proved to be the game-winning goal.
The Rangers had to work through adversity to pull off their third straight win. In the 30
th minute, a red card was shown to Parkside, forcing the Rangers to play a player down for the final sixty minutes of the contest.
The Rangers added an insurance goal in the 54
th minute.
Mia Dosen played a corner with a left foot to the head of
Alexis Bolger who guided the ball inside the left post for her second goal of the season.
Parkside was able to play strong defense for the remainder of the contest, posting their third straight clean sheet.
