KENOSHA, WI - Order on the court! The Parkside Volleyball team's 2023 season is on its way and it features a plethora of substantial match-ups and opportunities.
Once again, the team will be led by Leigh Barea in his sixth season as the head coach of the Rangers.
On the final day of August, the team will travel to Ohio for the Ashland Tournament that features four non-conference battles. Following Parkside's first look of the 2023 campaign, the team will return home and host the Hampton Inn Invitational at Alfred & Bernice de Simone Arena. "Both preseason tournaments will give us a great opportunity to prepare for conference as well as learn about each other as a team. Like every year, we are anticipating another highly competitive GLIAC schedule" said Barea.
Conference play for the Rangers commences shortly after, as they open their first weekend on the road in the GLIAC (Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference). The team is set for a quarrel with both Saginaw Valley State University and Ferris State University on September 15th and 16th.
After a short weekend trip, the Rangers will begin a five game homestand starting with Michigan Tech on the 22nd of September. "We are lucky to be home early in our conference schedule, so we will be focused on using our home court advantage to gain some ground early in the conference standings before we finish the conference season on the road."
Smack in the middle of the season, The Midwest Crossover will take place on October 13th and 14th. "The Midwest Crossover will also be a great moment for us to compete against some non-conference opponents to break up the conference schedule." Following the break in GLIAC play, the Rangers will host four consecutive home matchups.
The regular season concludes on November 11th in Allendale, Michigan against Grand Valley State University.
