Parkside Inks Six Into 2023 Softball Recruiting Class

KENOSHA, Wis. --- The Parkside softball program and Head Coach Kristin Ortman are excited to announce the signing of six student-athletes in the recruiting class of 2023. CiCI Di Silvio, Kate Harrison, Amelia Meyer, Megan Murphy, Kelly Raslavicz, and Taylor Utrata will join the Rangers in the fall.
 
"I am very excited about the potential of this year's recruiting class," said Ortman. "This is a group of student-athletes that come from successful high school and travel programs that will make a positive impact on our program. They all are high quality athletes that bring a lot of versatility and speed to the diamond."
 
CiCi Di Silvio – Infield – Algonquin, Ill. – Harry D Jacobs High School
 
Di Silvio comes to Parkside after spending her high school career at Harry D. Jacobs in Algonquin Illinois. At Jacobs Di Silvio was a two-time Fox Valley All-Conference player. She was also recognized as an All-Area player twice by the Daily Herald. The 2021 Jacobs team that Di Silvio was part of won the 2021 regional championship.  De Silvio graduated from Jacobs Summa Cum Laude and was recognized as an Academic All-Conference athlete. Di Silvio plans to major in sports management at Parkside.
 
Kate Harrison – Outfield – Muskego, Wis. – Muskego High School
 
Harrison comes to Parkside after a successful prep career at Muskego High School. Harrison was part of two softball regional championship teams (2021, 2022) at Muskego and was part of the volleyball regional championship team in 2021. Harrison was a three-sport athlete at Muskego, playing volleyball and rugby. She was also an active member of the Women of Will and Athletic Leadership Council. Harrison plans to major in human performance at Parkside.
 
Amelia Meyer – Outfield / Catcher – Arlington Heights, Ill. – John Hersey High School
 
Meyer comes to Parkside after spending her high school career at John Hersey High School in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Meyer was part of a 2023 Hersey team that went 21-8 overall and finished in second place in the Mid-Suburban East conference. Meyer plans to major in criminology at Parkside.
 
Megan Murphy – Outfield – Oak Lawn, Ill. – Mother McAuley High School
 
Murphy comes to Parkside after spending her high school career at Mother McAuley High School in Oak Lawn, Illinois. Murphy was part of the 2023 regional championship-winning team at Mother McAuley. Murphy hit .341 for the Mighty Macs this season over 30 games. Murphy was an All-Academic athlete and was an honor roll student in her final six semesters of high school. Murphy plans on majoring in international studies at Parkside.
 
Kelly Raslavicz – Outfield – Tinley Park, Ill. – Lincoln-Way East High School
 
Raslavicz comes to Parkside after a successful prep career at Lincoln-Way East High School. Raslavicz was part of a Griffin's team that went 29-5 in 2023, winning the regional championship and conference championship. Raslavicz was also part of the 2021-22 Griffins which won a conference title, regional championship, and sectional championship. Raslavicz was successful in the classroom as well, earning high honor roll status for her final three years of high school. Raslavicz plans on majoring in sports management at Parkside.
 
Taylor Utrata – Infield – Plainfield, Ill. – Montini Catholic High School
 
Urata comes to Parkside after spending her high school career at Montini Catholic High School. There Utrata was part of a three-time regional championship-winning team and a two-time sectional championship team. Utrata was named honorable mention All-Dupage County in 2023 and second team All-State. Utrata was an honor roll student at Montini and has yet to decide on a major at Parkside.
