Rangers Fall in Series Finale to GVSU

KENOSHA, Wis. --- The Parkside baseball team closed out the four game series with the Grand Valley State Lakers on Saturday afternoon, with the Lakers scoring eight runs over the final two innings to down the Rangers 15-4.

Ryan Brouch was the highlight offensively, going 4-4 on the day, falling just a triple shy of the cycle. Matt Felske and Kaleb Schulist each posted scoreless relief appearances on the mound.

Parkside struck first in the bottom of the second when Camden Kearney singled through the right side, bringing home Brouch who reached on a one out double. GVSU answered with four straight runs, scoring three in the third and one in the fourth to take a 4-1 lead.

The Rangers answered back in the bottom of the fourth when Brouch launched his second homer of the year over the left field wall. The two run shot brought Parkside back within 4-3.

Grand Valley countered with three runs of their own in the top of the fifth, building their lead back to 7-3. Parkside tried to stay in it, plating an unearned run in the bottom half, but the Lakers were able to score eight runs over the final two innings to down the Rangers 15-4.

Parkside will return to action on Tuesday afternoon when they travel to Hammond, Indiana to take on Purdue Northwest. Links to coverage can be found at ParksideRangers.com/coverage.
