DETROIT — The Parkside baseball team continued their four-game series with the No. 13 Wayne State Warriors on Saturday, playing two games. The Warriors scored early in both contests and the Rangers were unable to rally, falling by scores of 7-1 and 7-2.
GAME ONE
Emanuel Andujar Ferreira and Andrew Harris each had two hits in the opener. Andujar Ferreira extended his reached-base streak to 16 games with a bunt single in the fourth.
Wayne State jumped out to a 3-0 lead quickly, scoring one in the first and two in the third. Parkside got a run back in the top of the fourth when Harris ripped a double down the left field line, scoring Andujar Ferreira.
The Warriors added single runs in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings, downing Parkside 7-1.
GAME TWO
Wayne State jumped out quickly in the second game of the day, scoring seven runs in the first two innings.
Daniel Llanas stepped up big for the Rangers on the mound, pitching the final six innings. Llanas allowed no runs on just four hits. Seven different Rangers recorded a hit in the game, led by Camden Kearney with two.
Parkside got their two runs of the game in the top of the ninth when Reece Homan launched a 2-1 pitch over the center field wall.
