DETROIT --- The Parkside baseball team wrapped up the final four-game road series on Sunday afternoon, taking on the No. 13 ranked Wayne State Warriors. The Warriors scored five runs in the first two innings and Parkside was unable to rally, falling by a final score of 7-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Andrew Harris led the offense with two hits including a double. He also scored a run.
Emanuel Andujar Ferreira did not have a hit, but drew a walk, extending his reached-base streak to 18.
Caden Bronkhorst worked three innings of scoreless relief, allowing just one hit.
Wayne State jumped out early, scoring five runs over the first two innings. Parkside plated a run in the top of the second when a passed ball allowed
Max Bruff to come in to score. He had walked to lead off the inning.
The Warriors added on two runs in the fifth, extending their lead to 7-1. Parkside was able to get a run back on a sac fly by
Reece Homan in the seventh, scoring Harris.
Bronkhorst worked the final three innings for the Rangers and did not allow a run. The Parkside offense was unable to spark a rally late, falling by a final score of 7-2.
