GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. --- The Parkside Rangers baseball team continued their series with the Davenport Panthers on Saturday afternoon. Playing in cold and windy conditions, the Rangers were unable to come back against the Panthers, falling by a final score of 10-4.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Max Bruff was the top offensive performer, going 2-4 on the day with a triple a home run, and four driven in.
Chris Conrad worked a season-high seven and a third innings, allowing six earned on ten hits.
Davenport jumped out quickly, scoring six runs over the first two innings. Parkside answered back in the top of the third. With one out an error and a single by
Angel Rades put two on for Bruff. The senior then delivered a line drive to center that would go for a triple scoring two.
The Panthers were able to plate a run in the fourth to extend their lead to 7-4, but Conrad was able to keep Davenport at bay for the next three innings.
Parkside was able to score again thanks to Bruff in the seventh. With two outs and a runner on, Bruff was able to launch his seventh homer of the season off the scoreboard in right-center, pulling the Rangers within 7-4.
Davenport was able to extend their lead once again, plating three runs on four hits in the eighth. Parkside was unable to rally, falling by a final score of 10-4.
