COLUMBUS, Ohio – Alyssa Nelson of the Parkside women's basketball team has been named to the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association All-Midwest Region First Team, the D2CCA announced Thursday. This marks Nelson's second All-Midwest Region First Team recognition, as she received the honor following the 2021-22 season.

Nelson is one of two players in the GLIAC named to the First Team, as she joins Kaitlyn Zarycki of Saginaw Valley State, who was also named the Midwest Region Player of the Year. Chloe Idoni of Ferris State and Emily Spitzley of Grand Valley State were named All-Midwest Region Second Team.

Nelson led the Rangers all season long, averaging 22.4 points per game, along with 4.9 rebounds per game. She was named First Team All-GLIAC and is the all-time leading scorer in Parkside history.
