HOW IT HAPPENED
Parkside got themselves in and out of trouble in the first but found themselves down 2-0 after the game's initial at-bats. However, the Rangers got a run back when Rades was able to scamper home on a throwing error by the Rockford catcher. The Regents added a run in the top of the second to make it 3-1, but Parkside would take advantage of a pair of errors in the second to pull within one.
Â
The Rangers then tied the game in the third when Brouch singled up the middle on a 3-2 pitch, scoring Harris. Rockford scored single runs in the fourth and fifth, while the Rangers were again able to take advantage of the Regents' struggles behind the dish, but it was Rockford that held a 5-4 lead going to the bottom of the fifth. Parkside tied the game again in the bottom of the fifth, plating an unearned run.
Â
Parkside then blew the game wide open in the sixth, scoring eight runs on five hits. The scoring got started in the inning when Harris hit a deep line drive over the left field fence for the two-run homer. After a throwing error on a

Bryce Inman that would single up the middle, scoring two, making it 10-5 Rangers. Parkside plated three more runs in the inning, including a double steal, making the score 13-5 Parkside.
Â
Rockford got three back in the top of the seventh on two hits, but Parkside had the answer, scoring two on an
