KENOSHA, Wis. -- The Parkside women's basketball team is coming off a road win at Lewis on Tuesday night and now turn their focus to opening up GLIAC play in De Simone Arena this week. On Thursday the Rangers will go toe to toe with the Lake Superior State Lakers with tip scheduled for 5:30 p.m. CST. Parkside will then pivot to host No. 5 Ferris State on Saturday. Tip off for Saturday's contest is scheduled for 1 p.m. CST.

Scouting Lake Superior State
The Lakers will enter Thurday night's game with an 0-5 record. The Lakers started the year off winning two exhibition match ups. They defeated Division III Olivet 92-61 back on October 29th. They followed up that performance with another exhibition victory over NCCAA Great Lakes Christian. Since then LSSU has dropped their last five match ups. Thursday's game will be their first game in seven days, so expect fresh legs for the Lakers.
Statisitcally, the Lakers leading scorer is Grace Bradford. The sophomore is averaging 14.6 ppg currently while shooting 46.7% from the field. Freshman Breah Golden is the team second leading scorer, averaging 13.4 ppg while shooting 35.4%.
Series History
The Rangers hold a 14-1 series advantage over the Lakers. In the most recent outing the Rangers offense put on a clinic, scoring 109 points. That is now the program record for most points scored in a single game and just the third time the Rangers crossed the century mark.
Scouting Ferris State
The Bulldogs will come to De Simone Arena the heavy favorite, currently nationally ranked No. 5 in the nation. The Rangers are no strangers to beating ranked opponents on their home floor, most recently topping No. 8 Minnesota Duluth at home this season 77-49. Ferris State will come to Kenosha touting an unblemished 4-0 record. The Bulldogs have beaten their opponents by an average of 27 points. Their largest margin of victory was 34 points against Missouri S&T 80-46.
Ferris is lead by the GLIAC Preseason Player of the year Chloe Idoni. The senior is coming off an impressive week of play last week, good enough to be named GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week. Idoni posted a remarkable statline of 21 points, five blocks, four steals, four rebounds, dished out two assists while playing in just 25 minutes of action. Idoni in currently averaging 18.3 ppg and shoots an almost perfect 95% from the free throw line.
Series History
The last time the Bulldogs and Rangers squared off the Bulldogs snapped a three game losing streak to the Rangers by defeating the Rangers in the GLIAC Tournament last season. The series record favors the Bulldogs 8-6 with the first game between the two program played back in 2012 in the NCAA Tournament.
