Parkside Downs UMSL En Route to Fifth Straight Victory

Kenosha Wis - In their final contest of 2023, Parkside hosted the University of Missouri - St. Louis at De Simone Arena. Parkside capped off a phenomenal month of December, defeating UMSL 88-65 behind a lethal effort from behind the arc.

Inside the box score:

  • Paty Gallasova led all Parkside scorers with 16 points on 70% shooting

  • Chloe Van Zeeland had her best performance yet, scoring 15 points and collecting seven rebounds

  • Parkside shot 11-21 (52%) from three-point range

  • Every player on the active roster scored for the second time this season

How to happen:

After not playing in a regular season game in 20 days, Parkside began the game with some rust. In their highest scoring game of the season, the team ironically didn't score for the first three minutes of the contest. But when the scoring started, it came like a hurricane. Parkside finished the first quarter with 24 team points. Grace Lomen and Chloe Van Zeeland both had five points each in the quarter alone.

Parkside continued their scoring rampage in the second quarter with nifty shots from Kendal Zeiter. Parkside took a 14-point lead into the halftime break.

The ball movement was superior for Parkside this afternoon. In fact, the team assisted on 23 of 35 made field goals. Gabriela Loiz, Sheridan Flauger, and Grace Lomen all recorded four assists each.

Parkside got every player involved in the scoring for the second time this season, and the freshman class continues to impress.
