#7 Rangers Down Sioux Falls, 39-7

SIOUX FALLS, SD – The No. 7 ranked Parkside wrestling team closed out the opening weekend of NSIC play on Sunday afternoon, taking on the University of Sioux Falls. The Rangers put on a strong performance, winning eight of the ten matches, en route to a 39-7 victory.
 
No. 3 ranked Shane Corrigan got the afternoon started for the Rangers. He had two near falls and three take downs in a 16-0 tech fall win.
 
After Sioux Falls picked up a win at 133, No. 5 ranked Cayden Henschel was able to get a riding time bonus point to earn a 12-3 major decision. No. 6 ranked Jalen Spuhler kept things going, picking up an 18-2 tech fall late in the third period.
 
Ben Durocher won his battle at 157. His takedown in the first period was the difference, as he was able to hold on for the 4-2 decision. Parkside led 17-3 through five matches.
 
The Rangers had two pins on the day. No. 8 Brady Schuh got his at 2:04 of the first period to earn six points. Brody Hemauer then followed suit, getting a pin at 0:56 of the first period.
 
No. 5 Reece Worachek won his match by an 18-3 tech fall in the second period. Sioux Falls picked up four points in a major decision at 197, but Lloyd Reynolds was able to close out the night strong. His match was 0-0 after the first, but Reynolds was able to take control in the second. He would not let up, earning a 20-5 tech fall victory.
 
The Rangers will now prepare for the Midwest Classic, hosted by the University of Indianapolis in Indianapolis, Indiana on December 16-17. Links to brackets and coverage when made available can be found at ParksideRangers.com.
