SCOUTING NO. 1 NORTHERN MICHIGAN
The Wildcats entered the tournament as the No. 1 seed after defeating Michigan Tech in their final regular season match to clinch the regular season GLIAC title, the first in their program's history. The Wildcats also entered this week of play after being nationally ranked 8th in the nation, the highest ranking in the program's history. Along their way to the championship game they defeated the No. 8 seed in Purdue Northwest in a 3-0 scoreline. In the semifinals just this past Friday they defeated No. 5 Ferris State 4-1. The Wildcats now enter the GLIAC Tournament Championship for the second straight year, this year hoping to finish the job.Â
The Rangers have gone 0-1-1 against the Wildcats this season. The first match was played in Marquette. Parkside would use an
Emily Mikkelson goal to tie the match in a 1-1 scoreline. The most recent match was played back on October 22nd. The Rangers got defeated in a 3-0 scoreline at Wood Road Soccer Field.Â
Historically the Rangers haven't gotten a win over the Wildcats since back in November of 2019. The all-time series record currently sits at 6-5-3 in favor of Northern Michigan.Â
