HOUGHTON, MI - After an impressive sweep against Northern Michigan, Parkside was put to the test once again. The Rangers traveled to Michigan Tech Saturday afternoon in a loud and rowdy environment.
Parkside downed Michigan Tech just a few weeks ago in four sets. However, the Huskies flipped the script this time around the block.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
-
Ava Irvin set a new season and career high with 24 kills, swinging (.352)
-
Karlee Lois logged her first 50 assist game in her Parkside career
-
Natalie Harris collected 30 digs, most by a Ranger since 2019
In a loud and tense arena, Parkside was put in an uncomfortable position right off the bat. They trailed early and were forced to fight an uphill battle for the entire contest. After going down as much as six points in the opening set, Ava Irvin brought the team back. They marched from behind and won the set 26-24.
Parkside lost the next three consecutive sets but they did not go down without a fight. The team came from behind in the second set after being down eight points and made it interesting. Ava Irvin had a career game, proving to be a catalyst for the Rangers.
None of Parkside's offense is possible without Karlee Lois. Not only did she rack up her 14th double-double of the season, but she also put together one of the better performances of her career.
From offense to defense, freshman Natalie Harris once again shined under the bright lights. Her 30 digs were the best by any Rangers this season, and the most by a Ranger since Leo Ann reached that mark in 2019!
Parkside will play in the Midwest Crossover next weekend. For coverage, https://parksiderangers.com/coverage.
