HOW IT HAPPENED
The first half of play was scoreless between the two sides. Flawless goalkeeping by both keepers kept the scoreline knotted up at 0-0 heading into the half.
The Rangers finally broke through in the 70th minute when
Noah Schultz sent a ball through to
Paco Piscaglia. Piscaglia finished the ball with ease to put the Rangers up 1-0 with 20 minutes remaining in the match.Â
The Rangers weren't done yet. Just four minutes later
Alejandro Martinez passed the ball to
Edgar Heredia Victoria. Heredia Victoria sent the ball through to
Noah Schultz who passed the ball past the keeper to make the score 2-0 in favor of the Rangers. It was Schultz first goal of the season on his Senior Day. Schultz on the day recorded a goal and an assist in just 25 minutes of action for three points on the afternoon.Â
The cherry on top came in the 88th minute from the right foot of
Chris Estrada. Estrada ran onto a long ball from
Matteo Quintero and Estrada took a touch around the keeper and finished to deliver the Rangers final blow to the Cardinals.Â
The Rangers finish the regular season with a 9-4-2 overall record and a 7-2-1 record in conference play. Parkside receives the first round bye with securing the number one seed and will play host to the lowest remaining seed in the semi-finals on Novemeber 5th.Â
