Big Rapids, Mich. --- The Parkside Rangers continued their road trip on Saturday as they traveled to Big Rapids, Mich. to take on the Ferris State Bulldogs. The GLIAC-leading Rangers were unable to keep their win streak going as the Bulldogs outshot the Rangers and came away with the win 93-71.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first half began as a back and forth affair as the Rangers were able to knock down back to back three pointers with 14 minutes to go in the first half, giving them a 13-9 lead. The under 14 timeout proved to be the turning point in the first half as the Bulldogs went on a 10-2 run over the next four minutes to recapture the lead.
Following a
Nick Brown three pointer with 10:37 remaining, the Bulldogs pulled away on another run of 12-2 to extend their lead with under eight minutes left in the first half. The remaining eight minutes of the first half was a defensive battle on both sides, just a couple two-point baskets for the Rangers, featuring two dunks from sophomore
Sanmi Fajana. Former Ranger Solomon Oraegbu was the leading scorer for the Bulldogs in the first half as Ferris state lead 46-30 after the first 20 minutes.
The Rangers tried to climb back at the start of the second half on the back of sophomore
Rasheed Bello, but the defense was unable to slow down the Bulldogs. Ferris State continued to score at will as the Bulldogs were able to maintain a 20-point lead throughout the final half of the game. Ferris State's defense was not able to slow down the Rangers' high scoring pace as Parkside put up 71 points in the game while only giving up nine turnovers. The Bulldogs were able to shoot 61% from the field and 46% from behind the arc as they put up 93 points.
This loss sets the Rangers back to 6-2 in conference play and 12-5 overall. Parkside now sits alone in second place in the GLIAC just behind Northern Michigan who has played one less game this season. Parkside Men's Basketball returns home on Monday to face off against Cardinal Stritch at 3 p.m. inside De Simone Arena. Monday's matchup is featured by the annual Ranger Cub Club Day.
