HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rangers offense got on the board early in the match, with senior Marcos Calderon Jimenez scoring a goal in the second minute off of a free kick. That early goal ended up being the deciding factor as both sides failed to find the back of the net in the remaining 88 minutes.

HEAR FROM COACH ZITZKE
"In the first couple of minutes we had a beautiful free kick goal by Marcos and that really took a lot of pressure off of us to start the game. There were some nervous moments there at the very end. Quincy was pushing forward to try and tie up the game. Relief would be the best way to describe being able to get out of there with a win against a quality opponent like Quincy. It was a typical first game, where both teams are trying to figure out who we are and what we do. From our standpoint, I thought we did a pretty good job of organizing on the back line and with the goalkeeper. In most parts of our game, we have a lot of room for improvement, and hopefully we can continue to do that."

A LOOK AT THE STATS
The Rangers had eight shots on goal recorded, with redshirt-freshman Alejandro Martinez leading the way with three. Junior goalkeeper Robin Hermann had one save in his debut with the Rangers.

WHAT'S NEXT FOR THE RANGERS
