"This is always an award that I am proud of" said head coach
Leigh Barea. "Every year the team's dedication in the classroom is so impressive and this is another year that they excelled. This award is also because of our support system to our student success. Huge thank you to Ashley Beaton, all of our professors, our advisors, and the PARC for their support of our student-athletes."
The Rangers earned this award seven times since 2007, and have now earned it in three consecutive seasons. The award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale or 4.10 on a 5.0 scale. 161 teams earned the award in NCAA Division II.
Parkside will open the 2022 season on Aug. 26 with a trip north to Silver City, N.M. to compete in the Mustangs Green Chile Classic Tournament. The Rangers home opener is Sept. 2 against Illinois Springfield in the Parkside Hampton Inn Tournament.
