Â
GAME 1 RECAP
Much like what happened in game one last weekend, Ferris State jumped out to a big lead and the Rangers couldn't get back into the ball game. The Bulldogs scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning, including a 3-run double. They also added a run in the bottom of the second to take a 6-0 lead early on. The Rangers got on the scoreboard in the top of the third inning where junior
Dani Evans drove in freshman
Rylee Baetz with an RBI single to center field. FSU ended the game with four more unanswered runs, however.
Â
Parkside was limited to four hits in game one, as junior
Taylor Delgado, Baetz, Evans and freshman
Tia Livernash all recorded a hit. Baetz went 1-for-1 with a run and drew a walk. Freshman
Olivia Masnica suffered the loss, pitching the full 4.2 innings.

GAME 2 RECAP
Game two was FSU in the beginning as well, as the Bulldogs exploded for a 6-run first inning and added three more in the second to go up 9-1 early. In the top of the second inning, senior
Kiley Akey and Livernash drew back-to-back walks and junior
Alex Wooten singled to load the bases. Junior
Cassie Rutledge came through with an RBI single to center field but a flyout and a pickoff ended the Rangers' scoring chance.
Â
Livernash drove in junior
Jadynn Powell and graduate student
Alyssa Laxson in the top of the third inning to make it 9-3 and the game went scoreless in both the fourth and fifth innings. In the sixth, Baetz hit an RBI single to score Rutledge and Laxson finished off her stellar day with an RBI single to score Delgado. The Bulldogs responded with two runs of their own in the bottom of the sixth.
Â
Laxson finished 3-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI while Baetz went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Livernash went 1-for-3 with two RBI and Rutledge finished 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run.
