Baseball Drops First Two games Against PNW

GAME 1: PNW 22, Parkside 0
GAME 2: PNW 18, Parkside 5
 
The Parkside baseball team opened up their four-game series against the Purdue Northwest Pride on Saturday. The Rangers bats got off to an extremely cold start, and the Pride took advantage and jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the series.
 
GAME 1 RECAP
The Pride jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning. They then pounced on the Rangers in the third inning with a 14-run inning. The Pride then added four more runs in the sixth to close out the shutout victory.
 
GAME 2 RECAP
The Pride jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning. The Rangers got one back in the second off a home run for Andrew Harris. The Pride added three more in the third to increase their lead to 5-1.
 Andrew Leair singled to left in the fourth to score Ryan Brouch. The Pride answered with a six-run rally in the bottom of the fourth. Jared Heinzen hit a two-run homer to left field, scoring Dominic Esposito in the sixth inning. Leair later singled and scored Brouch. The Pride added one more run in the seventh inning and six more in the eighth.
 
ON DECK
The Rangers will finish off their series tomorrow against Purdue Northwest with a doubleheader beginning at noon.
