GAME 1: Lewis 5, Parkside 2
GAME 2: Lewis 3, Parkside 2
Parkside softball dropped a pair of nonconference road games to Lewis on Tuesday afternoon as the Rangers were held to two runs in both games.
Â
Parkside is back in action tomorrow at Davenport with a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m.

Game 1 Recap
The Rangers couldn't recover from a rough first inning that saw the Flyers use a 3-run home run and a two-run single to take a 5-0 lead early on. The Parkside offense was limited to one hit through the first four innings, but broke through in the fifth inning. Junior
Jadynn Powell drew a leadoff walk and redshirt-senior
Alyssa Laxson followed that with a single to get things going for the Rangers. They both came in to score on freshman
Rylee Baetz' two-run single, but Parkside couldn't push any more across. The Rangers put two runners on in each the sixth and seventh innings, but couldn't get the clutch hit they needed.
Â
Laxson went 2-for-3 with a run and Baetz finished 2-for-3 with two RBI. Powell went 1-for-2 with a run as the Rangers finished with seven hits. Senior
Kiley Akey suffered the loss in game one, pitching 6.0 innings allowing five runs on eight hits.

Game 2 Recap
Once again the Flyers got on top of the Rangers in the first inning, this time scoring two in the bottom of the first inning. Parkside was able to respond, thanks to a redshirt-sophomore
Taylor Delgado two-run single that scored both junior
Dani Evans and Baetz to tie it up 2-2. The Flyers scored the final run of the game in the bottom of the third and Parkside couldn't answer. Akey drew a leadoff walk in the top of the seventh, but the Rangers had back-to-back groundouts after junior
Brenna Konstanty moved Akey over on a sacrifice.
Â
Delgado finished 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI and Evans went 1-for-3 with a run. Parkside drew five walks in game two and freshman
Olivia Masnica was tagged with the loss, going 6.0 innings allowing seven hits, three runs and two walks with one strikeout.
Â
