Rangers Drop Both Games Against Lindenwood On Friday

GAME 1: Lindenwood 7, Parkside 1
GAME 2: Lindenwood 1, Parkside 0

GAME 1 RECAP
The Ranger bats got hot early on Friday morning in St. Charles, Mo., with thanks to a double to center field off the bat of freshman Meagan Maza to put the Rangers up 1-0. The Lions answered back with six straight runs in the bottom of the first to take a 6-1 lead. The lead was then extended to 7-1 in the bottom of the second inning to cap off the scoring for the rest of the game. Two Rangers were able to get a hit in the first game of the doubleheader with the second coming from a single by junior Taylor Delgado in the top of the third.

Redshirt-senior Tijanne Ross started another game for the Rangers and got through one inning allowing three earned runs on five hits and walking one batter. Freshman Olivia Masnica then took over on the mound for the rest of the game only allowing one run on four hits in her second appearance this season.

GAME 2 RECAP
The second game of the double header was knotted at 0-0 for the first three innings until the Lions scored the lone run of the game in the bottom of the fourth on a double-steal attempt. Senior Kiley Akey pitched a complete game for the Rangers with her only run being unearned. Akey walked one batter and gave up five hits in her 6.0 innings of work. Parkside's one hit came from a single off the bat of freshman Caroleann Goglin in the top of the fifth. The Rangers were able to draw nine walks in the game and left four runners on base.

SEASON LEADERS
Delgado leads the Rangers with a .350 batting average having played all 13 games this season and hitting the team's only home run of the season. Senior Alyssa Laxson leads the team with six runs batted in on eight hits.

Akey has the most innings pitched with 36.2 just ahead of Ross with 33.1. Ross also leads the team in strikeouts.
