GAME 2: Upper Iowa 5, Parkside 4
The Parkside softball team dropped both games of the Fairfield Classic on Saturday afternoon, after the schedule was changed multiple times due to weather. The Rangers will battle Bemidji State and Missouri Western State on Sunday to close out the weekend.
GAME 1 RECAP
Nebraska-Kearney got out to a quick lead following an early triple in the first inning, and took a 2-0 lead after one. The Lopers then continued to add on 11 more runs over the next three innings to make the score 13-0.
The Rangers were held to just three hits in the first game. Singles coming from junior
Taylor Delgado and junior
Dani Evans. Sophomore
Emmee Ball ripped a double for her first hit of the season.
Senior
Kiley Akey started on the mound for the Rangers once again but the Lopers were able to score seven earned runs on eight hits in 1.2 innings of work. Freshman
Olivia Masnica came in for relief and finished the remainder of the game allowing five earned runs on five hits while striking out two.
