HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rangers never led in this game, as MTU jumped out to a 9-2 advantage in the early minutes and Parkside never fully recovered. It seemed whenever Parkside was poised to make a run, Michigan Tech would hit a big 3-pointer to pull back in front. The Huskies shot 53.3% from the floor in the first half and 7-of-16 from deep; they took a 48-42 lead into the break. The Rangers shot well in the first half as well, going 15-of-32 from the floor and 5-of-8 from deep.

In the second half, MTU pushed the lead to double-digits early on and kept it there the whole time. The closest Parkside got was 12 points after back-to-back triples by Colin O'Rourke with 4:18 to play, but again the Huskies answered with a 3-pointer of their own.

STATWORTHY
Redshirt-freshman Jamir Simpson finished with a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds while redshirt-senior Tray Croft had 20 points and seven assists. O'Rourke finished with 16 points while freshman Rasheed Bello had 14. The Rangers went +1 in rebounding and -6 in the turnover battle where the Huskies outscored Parkside 12-2 off turnovers.

MTU had four players in double-figures as the team finished 32-of-57 from the floor and 11-of-24 from deep.

WHAT'S NEXT
Parkside will hit the road for next weekend where the team will face Saginaw Valley State on Thursday, Feb. 10 and Wayne State on Feb. 12. The team returns home for a Marquee Matchup powered by Upload Partners on Thursday, Feb. 17 against Ferris State.
