HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rangers never led in this game, as MTU jumped out to a 9-2 advantage in the early minutes and Parkside never fully recovered. It seemed whenever Parkside was poised to make a run, Michigan Tech would hit a big 3-pointer to pull back in front. The Huskies shot 53.3% from the floor in the first half and 7-of-16 from deep; they took a 48-42 lead into the break. The Rangers shot well in the first half as well, going 15-of-32 from the floor and 5-of-8 from deep.
Â
In the second half, MTU pushed the lead to double-digits early on and kept it there the whole time. The closest Parkside got was 12 points after back-to-back triples by
Colin O'Rourke with 4:18 to play, but again the Huskies answered with a 3-pointer of their own.
