William Jewell 8, Parkside 3
The Parkside softball team finished off the Rosemont Dome Invitational on Sunday morning with a loss to William Jewell. The Rangers went 1-4 in Rosemont, earning a win over McKendree on Friday.

The Rangers will travel to Missouri next weekend to face Lindenwood and Maryville for six games total.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED
William Jewell took an early 2-0 lead in the first inning after starting the game with three straight singles. The Rangers came back to tie it up at 2-2 in the bottom of the third thanks to some help on a WJ error that scored freshman
Eden Welling. Junior
Cassie Rutledge had an RBI groundout to tie it up.

The Cardinals answered with a run in the top of the fourth to take a 3-2 lead, and then made it 7-2 in the top of the fifth with three more runs. Parkside's final run came in the bottom of the sixth inning on a Welling RBI single that scored freshman
CaroleAnn Goglin.

Taylor Delgado went 3-for-3 with a run and a walk in the leadoff spot and Goglin/Welling each went 2-for-3 with a run. The Rangers were tagged with four errors as senior
Kiley Akey pitched 6.0 innings, allowing four hits and five runs with just one earned. She also had six strikeouts.

Parkside will face Lindenwood on the road on March 4, followed by back-to-back doubleheaders with Maryville on Saturday, March 5 and Sunday, March 6.
