STEVENS POINT, Wis. - In the 2022-23 season debut for the Rangers, five Rangers took home champion honors as five others finished in the top three of their respective weight classes at the Pointer Open hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

RESULTS
Senior Shane Gantz, ranked No. 1 in the NWCA Preseason Poll, dominated the 165-pound class with four victories with one coming as an 18-5 major. Sophomore Reece Worachek, ranked No. 3 in the NWCA preseason Poll, also went undefeated in four victories in the 184 division, with the final coming on a technical fall. Another win came from sophomore Lloyd Reynolds in the 285-pound weight class, where Reynolds won five total matches in route to the win. Sophomore Jalen Spuhler defeated teammate Torry Early in his championship match to win the 149-pound division. In the 141-pound division, sophomore Cayden Henschel won all five of his matches to bring home the championship.
Other Top Finishers
Shane Corrigan wrestled unattached and took second place in the 125-pound weight class, going 4-1 on Saturday
Joey Roti took third place and went 5-1 in the 133-pound class.
Troy Dolphin finished sixth as he wrestled unattached.
Torry Early finished second in the 149-pound weight class.
Brody Hemauer wrestled unattached and took second place at 174 pounds.
Eric Bauer went 5-1 in route to a third place finish.
