Northern Michigan 72, Parkside 53
The Parkside men's basketball team got off to a slow start and team couldn't recover in a road loss to Northern Michigan on Saturday afternoon. The Rangers fell to 5-8 overall and 2-4 in the GLIAC while the Wildcats moved to 6-7 overall and 2-4 in the GLIAC.

HOW IT HAPPENED
It took both squads a few minutes to score, but NMU got up 5-0 early on and Parkside never was able to grab a lead. The Wildcats used a 16-2 run to jump out to a 21-5 lead with 11:07 to play, then pushed the lead to 20 points with 6:35 to play in the first half. The Wildcats went into the locker room with a 47-24 lead.

With NMU leading 66-41 with 6:16 to play, Parkside was able to rip off a 12-0 run and get within 13 points, but it was a little too late for the Rangers.

Tray Croft led the Rangers with 23 points and six rebounds while going 7-of-7 from the free-throw line. Redshirt-senior

Jamir Simpson each had seven points while freshman
Rasheed Bello had six off the bench.

Parkside finished 20-of-59 from the floor (33.9%) while going 4-of-24 from deep. NMU went 29-of-63 from the floor and 11-of-26 from deep. The Rangers went -8 in rebounding and -1 in the turnover battle.

After battling Purdue Northwest on Thursday, Jan. 13, Parkside returns home for a Monday afternoon matchup on Jan. 17 at 3 p.m. in De Simone Arena.
