Men's Basketball Cruises to 94-69 Home Win over PNW

The Parkside men's basketball team cruised to its second straight victory over Purdue Northwest on Saturday afternoon in De Simone Arena in a makeup game from Jan. 1. The Rangers pulled away with a big second half, where they outscored the Pride 57-38. The Rangers improved to 7-8 overall and 4-4 in the GLIAC.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Parkside never trailed in the ball game, but also never got up by double digits int eh first half with the Pride keeping it close. The Rangers used a quick 7-0 run early in the first half to take their largest lead of the half at nine points. Parkside led 37-31 at the break thanks to a 19-6 points off turnover differential.
 
The Rangers pulled away in the second half, pushing the lead to double digits with 14:22 to play and eventually pushing the lead to 20 points with 7:55 to play. A 16-point second half performance by redshirt-senior Tray Croft helped Parkside hold on to the lead, including a stretch of just over 3:00 where he scored 11 points.
 
STATWORTHY
Croft had a team-high 20 points while redshirt-junior Brandon Hau had 19 points and nine rebounds. Freshman Rasheed Bello finished with 13 points and redshirt-freshman Colin O'Rourke had 11 points.
 
As a team, Parkside shot 52.2% from the floor and went 12-of-25 from downtown. They finished with 22 assists, their second highest total of the season. Parkside had a 34-12 advantage in points off turnovers.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
The Rangers' Monday afternoon matchup against Northwood has been postponed, so Parkside will be back in action on Thursday, Jan. 20 against Wayne State in De Simone Arena.
