Parkside 64, Purdue Northwest 61
HAMMOND, Ind. – The Parkside women's basketball team hit the road on Thursday for a one game trip against the Purdue Northwest Pride. The Rangers entered the day carrying a five-game losing streak, with their last win coming back on Dec. 9 against Davenport. The Pride lost their last game against Quincy, which snapped a two-game win streak. The game was close most of the way, but the Rangers rode a strong second half to come away with a much-needed win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rangers got out to an early lead with
Hannah Plockelman scoring eight points in the first quarter to help put the Rangers up by five. The Pride controlled most of the second quarter, shooting over 66% to head to the half tied with the Rangers at 31. The Rangers came out of the half and jumped out to a three-point lead in the third quarter. The fourth quarter started off looking bleak for the Rangers, as the Pride jumped out to a 55-50 lead with just under six minutes to play. The Rangers battled back and a three-point basket by
