Rangers Drop Both at Northwood

GAME 1: Northwood 5, Parkside 1
GAME 2: Northwood 13, Parkside 1
It was a tough day for the Parkside baseball team, who dropped their Sunday doubleheader at Northwood, and fell in all four games of the weekend series.

GAME 1 RECAP
Each team got a solid outing from their starting pitcher in game one. Logan Lee started for Northwood, and redshirt-freshman Chris Conrad started on the mound for the Rangers. Conrad went 5.2 innings, struck out four, and allowed only one earned run on six hits. Lee picthed six innings and allowed only one Ranger run on six hits.

The Timberwolves started the game with a run in the first, and two more in the fourth to grab a 3-0 lead by the end of the fourth. The Green & White grabbed a run in the sixth on an RBI-single from senior Dominic Esposito, but couldn't bring across any more in the top of the seventh, and fell 5-1.

GAME 2 RECAP
Parkside's pitching staff wasn't able to hold the Timberwolves' offense down the same way in game two. After grabbing an early 1-0 lead thanks to a Kurt Mlachnik homer, the Rangers allowed 13 unanswered runs.

A LOOK AT THE BOX SCORE
Redshirt senior Austin Emanuel and senior Garrett LaBreche led the Ranger offense on the day. Across the doubleheader, both went 3-for-7. Mlachnik had a solid game two, going 1-for-4 with a home run and a walk drawn.

WHAT'S NEXT
Next weekend, the team will travel to Davenport to close out the regular season with a four-game series against the Panthers. Game one is scheduled for Friday, May 14 at 3 p.m.
