It was the second game in six days for the Parkside women's soccer team Friday afternoon as they traveled to take on the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals. The Cardinals drew first blood in the 38
th minute, added another in the 64
th. Parkside grabbed a late goal in the 90
th, but it was a little to late to find an equalizer at that point.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Cardinals put the pressure on the Rangers from the get-go, which showed up in the box score. Saginaw Valley State had nine of the game's first 11 shots, which payed off with their opener in the 38
th minute. The same trend continued in the second half, with the Cardinals taking five of the first seven before grabbing their second on a Jensen Taylor goal in the 64th. Parkside got their lone goal in the 90
th minute on a first career goal from freshman
Alexis Bolger.

STATWORTHY
The Rangers goal was assisted by senior
Michelle Benitez, her first of the season. Saginaw Valley State out shot the Green & White, 19-15, including 10 shots on goal for the Cardinals, and seven for the Rangers. Sophomore
Izzy Guyer got the start in goal for Parkside, and registered eight saves.

Parkside continue their road trip this weekend when they travel to Ashland to take on the Eagles on Sunday at noon. Following, they'll head to Michigan Tech for a matchup on Friday, April 16 at 6 p.m.
