Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer Blanked at Ashland

Ashland 1, Parkside 0
In a Sunday afternoon GLIAC matchup against the Ashland Eagles, the Parkside women's soccer team fell in heartbreaking fashion. After a near even 75 minutes, the Eagles found their winner in the 76th on a goal from Faith Lewis.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rangers put the pressure on early, forcing the first two saves of the game from the Ashland keeper in the 15th and 24th minutes. Ashland forced a save from Parkside keeper Izzy Guyer in the 28th minute, but neither team was able to put away their chances in the first.

No significant chances came in the second half until the Ashland goal in the 76th minute by Lewis, which was assisted by Jessie Thomas. Freshman Isabelle Rivera tried responding in the 80th minute, but her shot was saved by the Eagles' Hannah Lee. Rivera's chance was the last Parkside would get at the Ashland goal.

STATWORTHY
After scoring her first career goal on Friday, freshman Alexis Bolger led the Ranger attack on Sunday with three shots, including two on goal. Junior Samantha Nickell and Rivera had the other two shots on the Ashland goal. Ashland outshot Parkside 14-6, but the Rangers had more shots on goal, 4-3. Guyer got the start in goal for the Green & White, finishing with two saves.
