The Parkside softball team dropped a couple of heartbreakers on Tuesday afternoon at Case Softball Complex, as Lewis came back from trailing late in both games to beat the Rangers in nonconference action. Parkside will get right back at it with a doubleheader against Ferris State on Wednesday at noon and 2 p.m. at Case Softball Complex.

GAME 1 RECAP
The Flyers scored six unanswered runs in the final two innings of game one, and ended up taking the lead in the top of the seventh on a play with two Rangers' errors.
In the bottom of the second, senior
Maegan Brookins ripped a 3-run double to make it 3-1 Parkside. Senior
Alyssa Laxson made it 4-1 with an RBI single that scored graduate student
Megan Aliverti. After the Flyers scored a run in the top of the fourth, the Rangers answered with a run on an
Alex Wooten RBI single, making it 5-2. Parkside made it 6-2 as senior
Samantha Newtoff drove in senior
Kate Czoschke in the bottom of the fifth. Lewis answered with three runs in the sixth and three runs in the seventh.
Four Rangers finished with a pair of hits in game one, including Aliverti, senior
Allison Hausl, Czoschke and sophomore
Jadynn Powell. Brookins and Czoschke each had a double, while Brookins also stole a base.
Hausl started the game for the Rangers, going the first 5.0 innings and junior
Kiley Akey came in to finish the final 2.0 innings, suffering the loss.

GAME 2 RECAP
Parkside lost a late lead once again in game two, as Lewis was able to push across three runs in the top of the seventh. Sophomore
Dani Evans drove in both runs for the Rangers, with a solo home run in the third and an RBI single in the fifth inning. Her home run, which was drilled out to left center field, was her fourth of the season.
Tijanne Ross started the game for the Rangers, going 6.0 innings allowing eight hits and four runs with five strikeouts. Akey pitched the final inning for Parkside.

The Rangers will be right back in action at Case Softball Complex tomorrow for a doubleheader against Ferris State at noon and 2 p.m.
