Ashland Takes Series Opener at Historic Simmons Field

Ashland 11, Parkside 3
Parkside had a lead for a good part of the series-opener against Ashland on Friday afternoon, but back-to-back big innings by the Eagles was the difference at Historic Simmons Field. Ashland scored five runs in the sixth and five runs in the seventh inning to pull away.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Noah Tyrrell led the inning off with a triple down the right field line.

Ashland's bats came around in the sixth and seventh innings, where they had back-to-back 5-run innings to take a 10-2 lead. The Rangers final run came in the bottom of the seventh as Tyrrell brought in Austin Emanuel with a sacrifice fly, but Ashland's lead was too large to come back.
