GAME 1: Parkside 5, Davenport 4
GAME 2: Davenport 3, Parkside 0
The Parkside softball team earned another split on the road, this time at Davenport. It's the sixth straight series split for the Rangers.
Â
After falling behind early in game one, the Green & White scored five unanswered runs to take a 5-1 lead, and eventually secured a 5-4 win with the Davenport winning run stranded on second base. Parkside was no-hit in game two.

GAME 1 RECAP
Davenport grabbed the lead in the second inning thanks to a one-out home run from Mariah Cura off of Parkside starter
Allison Hausl. The Rangers responded in their next round of at-bats in the top of the third with a two-RBI double from senior
Jessica Miklos. They added three more runs to their lead in the fourth thanks to back-to-back doubles from sophomore
Cassie Rutledge and redshirt-senior
Megan Aliverti, making the score 5-1.
Â
Davenport chipped away at the lead in the bottom of the fourth, making the score 5-2 after a sacrifice fly. Hausl was able to shut down the Panther offense in the fifth and sixth, but not the seventh. The hosts rallied, starting with a leadoff triple and an RBI single, which prompted the Green & White to bring in senior
Tijanne Ross to shut down the Davenport rally. Ross entered the game with a 5-3 lead, one out, and runners on first and second. She was able to get the second out of the inning on a bases-loaded ground ball to the second baseman, and then struck out the Panther's Gabby Palazzolo to end the game.
Â
GAME 2 RECAP
Davenport starter Ellie Muilenburg pitched a gem in game two, throwing a complete-game no-hitter, allowing only three Rangers to reach base in the contest. Junior
Kiley Akey started on the mound for Parkside, and pitched all six innings, only allowing one earned run. Despite that, Davenport scored one run in each of the second, third, and fourth innings.
Â
STATWORTHY
Sophomore
Taylor Delgado (2-for-4), Aliverti (2-for-4, 2 RBI), and senior
Jessica Miklos (2-for-4, 2 RBI) all had a multi-hit game in game one. The Rangers had four extra-base hits in the contest, coming from Aliverti, Hausl, Miklos, and sophomore
Cassie Rutledge.
