The Parkside softball team earned its fourth straight GLIAC split on Saturday afternoon at Case Softball Complex, which was senior day. Senior
Allison Hausl tossed a complete-game one-hitter in game one. The Rangers moved to 11-19 overall and 7-11 in the GLIAC.Â

GAME 1 RECAP
Hausl's final line was stellar, as she finished throwing the complete game allowing just one hit and one walk with seven strikeouts. Aliverti got the offense going with a solo home run in the first inning, but the Rangers exploded in the second inning, scoring five runs on three hits and an error. Hausl led the inning off reaching on an error and was driven in on Newtoff's RBI fielder's choice. After a pitching change, senior
Alyssa Laxson scored on an RBI groundout by Brookins, followed by a wild pitch that scored Newtoff. Sophomore
Taylor Delgado ripped an RBI double to plate sophomore
Cassie Rutledge and Aliverti followed that with an RBI double to score Delgado.

Aliverti had a nice game, going 3-for-3 with three RBI and finishing a triple shy of the cycle. Delgado went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI while Hausl went 1-for-2 with two runs and Newtoff went 1-for-2 with a run and an RBI.

GAME 2 RECAP
Parkside offense was held down until late in game two after Ashland scored a pair of runs in the top of the first inning to go up 2-0. Parkside's run early on came in the bottom of the first inning, where Aliverti drove in Brookins on an RBI groundout. Ashland scored a run in the top of the fifth and top of the seventh to lead 4-1 heading into the seventh. In the seventh inning, Hausl led off with a walk and sophomore
Jadynn Powell singled up the middle. With runners on first and second, Czoschke drilled an RBI double to scored Hausl to make it 4-2. Miklos hit a sacrifice fly to make it 4-3, but the Rangers couldn't bring the tying run across the plate.

The Rangers were limited to four hits in game two, as Powell went 2-for-3 and Czoschke/Rutledge had the other hits. Prucha suffered the loss for Parkside, while Akey tossed the final 6.0 innings allowing two runs on five hits.

WHAT'S NEXT
Parkside will stay at home to finish out the weekend, welcoming in Wayne State for a doubleheader that will start at noon at Case Softball Complex.
