The Parkside volleyball team opened the day with their second straight set win of the season, taking down Lake Superior State 3-0 to open the consolation bracket. The Rangers stayed hot, beating the No. 5 seed Northwood in five sets to advance to the consolation championship against Davenport at 9 a.m. CT tomorrow morning.

"Today was huge for us," head coach
Leigh Barea said. "We played our best volleyball match of year against Northwood. We stayed calm and weathered whatever storm Northwood brought us. I am so proud of them and thankful we have the opportunity to play another match tomorrow together tomorrow!"
MATCH 1 RECAP
In the first set, the Rangers and Lakers found themselves tied up at 11-11, but Parkside ripped off a 9-3 run to pull away and come away with the 25-18 win in the first set. The second set was very similar the first, as Parkside and LSSU were tied up at 10-10, but used an 8-1 run to jump out to the big advantage and come away with the 25-20 win. In the third set, the Rangers never trailed, cruising to the 25-20 victory despite a late run from the Lakers.

Jazmine Neal led the Rangers with 13 kills while senior
Rachel Hedman had nine and sophomore
Reese Rossnagel had seven. Neal also had 4.0 blocks while sophomore
Alysha Brickl had 25 assists and Hedman added 15 digs.

 MATCH 2 RECAP
The Rangers and Timberwolves went back forth for four straight sets, with Parkside taking the first and third and Northwood winning sets two and four. In the fifth set, the teams were tied up at 4-4, but Parkside was able to finish them off from there, using a 7-2 run to pull away and earn the five-set winning thriller.

Hallie McGuire and sophomore
Reese Rossnagel each had 12. Senior
Emma Habisch had a team-high 25 assists while sophomore
Kaylee Kuecker had 16 digs.
