Ludwig's Late Goal Leads Rangers Past St. Cloud State

The Rangers traveled to Minnesota for a match under the lights against the St. Cloud State Huskies.  The Rangers battled in a back and forth game, and were able to pull away in the late minutes to secure their seventh victory of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first goal for the Rangers came in the 18th minute, as redshirt-junior Rade Novakovich scored his first goal of the night, with an assist being credited to redshirt-junior Nikola Kesich. The Huskies rallied back in the second half, scoring a tying goal in the 56th minute and a go-ahead goal in the 64th minute.  The lead would be short-lived however, as Kesich would once again find Novakovich and score in the 66th minute.  The game-winning goal came in the 86th minute, with senior Max Ludwig scoring on a penalty kick.

STATWORTHY
Novakovich now has 11 goals through nine games this season.  Novakovich added to his point total, now with 28.  Ludwig tallied his third goal on the year, and has increased his point total to 16.  Kesich tallied two assists, bringing his season total up to four assists.

WHAT'S NEXT FOR THE RANGERS
Parkside will continue its weekend road trip with a stop in Fayette, Iowa for a match against the Upper Iowa Peacocks on Sunday, Oct. 3.  Kickoff is at 2 p.m.  The Rangers will return home to face Northern Michigan on Friday, Oct. 10.
