The Parkside softball team split Saturday's games at the Rosemont Dome, falling to William Jewell 7-5 in the early matchup before senior
Alyssa McClelland pitched her second straight complete-game shutout in a 5-0 win over Findlay. The Rangers, who improved to 3-1 on the season, will finish out the Rosemont Dome Tournament on Sunday, battling No. 14 Winona State at 8 a.m. followed by Missouri S&T at 10 a.m.

Kristin Ortman said. "I was proud of how we backed her up with sold defense in addition to executing at the plate. Overall, it was a great team effort and we're looking to keep the momentum going through Sunday."
GAME 1: William Jewell 7, Parkside 5
The game went back-and-forth in the early innings before the Cardinals scored five runs in the fifth and sixth innings combined.
After the Cardinals took an early 1-0 lead, freshman
Alex Wooten was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to tie it up at 1-1. WJ used an RBI single to take another lead, but senior
Allison Hausl ripped a two-run single up the middle to score junior
Alyssa Laxson and senior
Megan Aliverti, making it a 3-2 Rangers lead. The Cardinals followed that up with five unanswered runs to take a 7-3 advantage heading into the bottom of the sixth inning.
In the sixth inning, senior
Adrien Hall hit an RBI single to score freshman
Dani Evans while Hausl hit an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh to score
Samantha Newtoff and make it 7-5 WJ, but a Parkside runner was thrown out on the play to end the game.
Senior
Jessica Crull finished 4-for-4 with a double while Hausl went 2-for-4 with three RBI and Aliverti went 2-for-4. Sophomore
Kiley Akey pitched the first 4.2 innings while Hausl finished the final 2.1 innings and suffered the loss.
GAME 2: Parkside 5, Findlay 0
McClelland, who improved to 2-0 this season, was dealing again for the Rangers, as she had a no-hitter through 4.1 innings. She finished the game allowing just one hit and two walks with two strikeouts.
The Rangers scored all five runs in the top of the fourth inning, using three hits and four walks. Crull led off with a walk, followed by back-to-back singles from Aliverti and Laxson. Laxson's single scored freshman
Brenna Konstanty, putting the Rangers up 1-0. Parkside plated runs on a bases loaded walk from junior
Morgan Moore, an RBI single from Evans, another bases loaded walk from freshman
Jadynn Powell and a senior
Cassie Walek sacrifice fly.
Laxson finished 2-for-4 with an RBI while Evans and Walek each went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
