Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball's Senior Day Spoiled by #14 Ferris State

#14 FERRIS STATE 75, PARKSIDE 70
No. 14 Ferris State spoiled senior day for the Parkside men's basketball team, as the Rangers couldn't overtake the Bulldogs in a tight game throughout. Before the game, Parkside honored seniors Brian Rehm, Linwood Lee, Joe Borcia and Jonathan Morrobel.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The game was even midway through, tied at 15-15 with 9:16 to play in the half. The Bulldogs followed that up with a 16-7 run to go up double-digits. The Rangers ended the half on a 9-2 run, including a Morrobel 3-pointer as time expired to make it a 33-30 Ferris State lead heading into the break.

In the second half, Ferris State built up a 13-point advantage at the 12:09 mark, but the Rangers used a quick 7-0 run to make it a 59-53 FSU lead with 9:17 to play. Parkside got within two after an and-one from redshirt-sophomore Brandon Trimble with 3:36 to play, but that was the closest the Rangers would get. The Bulldogs hit a couple of big shots down the stretch to sneak away with the win.

A LOOK AT THE BOX SCORE
Four Rangers finished in double-figures, with redshirt-sophomore Brandon Hau leading all scorers with 21 points on 10-of-18 shooting. Morrobel finished with 12 points and hit a couple of triples while Trimble had 11 points and junior Ramar Evans had 10 points and six assists.

Ferris State got a huge lift in 3-point shooting, going 14-of-32 while the Rangers went 6-of-17. Parkside went +20 in points in the paint, but narrowly lost the rebounding battle and turnover battle.

WHAT'S NEXT
Parkside, who has been eliminated from postseason play, will finish out the regular season on Thursday, Feb. 27 at Purdue Northwest.
