KENOSHA, Wis. - Kenosha's Gateway Mortgage Corporation and Parkside Athletics will team up to create the Very Impactful Professors and Staff (VIPS) Program in 2019-20, Director of Athletics Andrew Gavin announced on Wednesday.

The VIPS Program presented by Gateway Mortgage will allow Parkside student-athletes to recognize and celebrate a professor or staff member of their choice for the impact they've had on their experience as a student-athlete at UW-Parkside.

"The VIPS program is an exciting initiative allowing our student-athletes to honor professors and staff members that have positively impacted Parkside Athletics and their experience," Gavin said. "We are grateful to the Deaton Family and Gateway Mortgage for their generosity towards our department and interest in supporting the VIPS program."

Professors and staff members will be invited by a Parkside student-athlete to the VIPS Program Event designated for the student-athletes specific team. The honorees will have the opportunity to attend the event, receive an exclusive co-branded VIPS pullover, and be recognized before the specific event alongside the student-athlete honoring them.

The first VIPS Program event will be on Tuesday, Sept. 24 when Parkside Volleyball hosts Purdue Northwest at 7 p.m. in DeSimone Gymnasium.

Additionally, Gateway Mortgage will be the presenter of the VIPS of the Year Award handed out at the annual Ranger Awards.
