Conely on Rahkonen: "Carolina is a complete basketball player. She is a great scorer who can knock down threes and attack the basket. She consistently hit big shots for us throughout the season and is an excellent defender that can guard every position."
Ali Bettencourt:
Second Team All-GLIAC
Bettencourt, currently pursuing her Masters degree Sports Management, played 22 games for Parkside this season, starting all of them. Hailing from El Dorado Hills, Calif., Bettencourt averaged 24.5 minutes per game, 11.8 points per game and 2.8 rebounds per game. Bettencourt was Second Team All-GLVC last season.
Conely on Bettencourt: "Ali had a great season. I was glad to see her battle back from an injury earlier this year and perform at a high level. She's an outstanding scorer that made big plays for us and is very difficult to guard."
Taylor Stephen:
All-GLIAC Defensive Team
Stephen, a guard from Connersville, Ind., started every game for Parkside and was tasked with guarding the opposing team's point guard for a majority of the season. Stephen had an assist to turnover ratio of 1.96 and was ranked third in the GLIAC and led the Rangers with 37 steals on the year. Stephen had a career-high 13 points against Lake Superior State on 1-17-19 going 6-for-7 from the field. She shared the ball extremely well with 98 assists on the year.
Conely on Stephen: "Taylor is one of the best on-ball defenders in the GLIAC. She brings so much tenacity and toughness to our team with her defensive intensity. If she's not getting steals, she's causing them with her defensive pressure."
