Softball Closes Road Trip with Losses at Northwood

Parkside ended its long road trip with a pair of losses to Northwood on Sunday afternoon at Fisher Stadium, as the home Timberwolves won game one 6-3 and took the second game 8-2.

GAME 1: Northwood 6, Parkside 3
Morgan Sikon's two-run home run gave the Rangers the early lead, but Northwood used a pair of two-run innings in the third and fourth to take the lead they wouldn't let go.

Sikon put the Rangers up 2-0 in the top of the first with her first home run of the season. Northwood added one in the bottom of the first, but Parkside got that one back as Samantha Newtoff came in to score on an error in the top of the third, making it 3-1 Rangers. NU scored the final five runs of the game while holding the Rangers scoreless in the final four innings.

The middle of the Rangers' order had a good day, as Sikon went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI, Megan Aliverti went 2-for-3 and Jessica Crull went 2-for-4. Fenza went 1-for-3 with a run and two stolen bases.

GAME 2: Northwood 8, Parkside 2
Northwood used a pair of big innings to take this one, including a five-run fourth inning. Crull hit her first home run of the season.

After Northwood scored three in the bottom of the third, the Rangers added one in the fourth thanks to the Crull home run, making it 3-1 NU. The Timberwolves used a big five-run inning to take an 8-1 lead. The Rangers plated a run in the top of the sixth as Fenza came in to score on a Timberwolves error.

Fenza finished 2-for-4 with a run while Crull went 2-for-3 with the home run in the three hole.
