In its first season as a member of the GLIAC, Parkside men's basketball won the GLIAC North Division after a thrilling win at Purdue Northwest Thursday night. With the game tied and :07-seconds left,
Brandon Trimble took a rebound coast-to-coast and finished a layup to give the Rangers the win. Trimble finished with a career-high 28 points on 11-of-21 shooting and 4-of-6 from beyond the arc.

With the win, the Rangers locked up the GLIAC North Division and the No. 3 seed in the Tournament. Parkside will host Lake Superior State on Tuesday, March 5 at 7:30 p.m. in DeSimone Gymnasium.

Luke Reigel said. "Every night is a battle and yet they keep their composure and find a way to win. To be able to win a division title in our first year is special and this is a special group of young men."

DOWN THE STRETCH
With 5:32 to play, PNW held a 65-60 lead and had the Rangers on the ropes. The team responded with a 7-0 run to grab a 67-65 with 2:57 to play. Trimble knocked down a huge 3-pointer with 1:41 to play to make it 70-67, where immediately after the ball left Trimble's hand, Reigel called a timeout, causing some controversy late.

With :07 seconds to play, PNW drew a foul and went to the line down 72-71. They went 1-for-1, setting up the Trimble game-winner.

STATWORTHY
After Trimble's career-high 28 points and six rebounds,
Chavares Flanigan had 16 points, five assists and four rebounds while
Ramar Evans finished with 11 points and four rebounds.
Brandon Hau had nine points and six rebounds.

Parkside shot 38.5-percent from the floor and 10-of-25 from beyond the arc. The Rangers got a big lift in free-throw shooting, going 14-of-15 while the Pride finished 4-for-10.

TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT
Parkside's last nine games have been decided by single digits including the win over PNW Thursday. The Rangers swept Lake Superior State in the two regular season meetings, winning on a Trimble buzzer beater at LSSU and beating the Lakers ÂÂÂÂ60-58 last week Thursday thanks to a Flanigan game winner.

Parkside will welcome in Lake Superior State on Tuesday, March 5 at 7:30 p.m. in DeSimone Gymnasium. The Rangers have won 10 straight games at home and finished 11-1 in the regular season on the home court.
