Parkside 101, Davenport 87
Saturday's affair featured two offenses that were clicking, as the two teams combined to score 188 points, the highest mark in a Ranger game this year. The win marks the first in GLIAC play for Parkside, and also snaps a five-game losing streak. The team also notched over 100 points for the first time since Dec. 4, 2012.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rangers got off to the start they wanted, starting the game on an 8-4 run in the first four minutes of the game. They then extended that lead to eight, at 17-9, on a three from junior Aina Cabrero Siñol. That eight-point cushion remained for most of the quarter until a Davenport three-pointer with four seconds left in the quarter cut the lead to 33-28 heading into the first quarter break. The two teams traded baskets back and forth until another jumper from Siñol sparked a 14-0 run to give the Green & White a 58-38 lead with two minutes left in the half. Davenport tried to get a little back before the half, and did, as they cut the lead to 17, at 61-44 going into half. Parkside built its lead in large part due to shooting 22-of-38 from the field, and 12-of-21 from three in the frame.
Â
The third quarter saw the Ranger lead balloon to 24 at one point before the Panthers had a small run of their own to bring it to 80-62 going into the fourth. It looked like the Panthers were going to make a game of it in the final quarter as they cut the lead to 12, but their run was cut short by some timely Ranger baskets to ice the game.

HEAR FROM COACH CONELY
"Got off to a great start offensively and defensively," said second year head coach
Jen Conely. "Really happy with how we shared the ball and made the extra pass. Every player has the ability to knock down shots and our ball movement allowed us to get in a rhythm and have balanced scoring. Defensively, we still need to lock in for 40 minutes. We had some lapses and allowed them to heat up as well. Always great to win on the road, but looking forward to defending the den after finals week."

STATWORTHY
The Rangers benefitted from some balanced scoring with sophomore's
Maddy Harrison and
Alyssa Nelson leading the way with 20 points apiece. The 20-point performance is a career-high for Harrison. Junior Aina Cabrero Siñol was also one of the top performers for Parkside, scoring 17 points to go with four rebounds and two assists.
Â
Parkside shot well on the night, going 50.7-percent from the field and 45.9-percent from three compared to 44.6-percent and 50-percent from Davenport respectively. One of the biggest separations in the game came from points off turnovers, with Parkside outscoring the Panthers 32-19.
