KENOSHA, Wis. – Parkside volleyball and head coach
Leigh Barea are pleased to announce the signing of six recruits that will join the Rangers for the 2020 volleyball season.
Barea on the recruiting class: "We are really excited for this entire class of signees. They are a well-rounded group with lots of potential. My favorite part about them is the passion they share not only for volleyball, but Parkside Volleyball."
Maddy Dokken | Stevens Point, Wis. | SPASH
Barea on Dokken: "Maddy is one who's passion for Parkside showed through the entire recruiting process. She is athletic and has experience in many positions which makes her very versatile for us."
- Unanimous First Team All-Conference as a senior
- Honorable mention All-Conference as a junior
- Helped SPASH win the Wisconsin Valley Conference Championship in 2018 and 2019
- Was the first time in SPASH history a team went back-to-back
- Led the team in kills/hitting percentage as a senior
- Earned the Team First Award
- Named a Team Captain
- Two-year member of the National Honors Society
- Member of the Honor Roll every semester
- Three-time Scholar Athlete Award
- Two-time WVCA All-Academic Individual
- Two-time Academic Letter winner
- Dad, Charles, played football at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn.
Grace Fath | Big Rapids, Mich. | Big Rapids High School
Barea on Fath: "Grace has been around top-level volleyball since she was a kid. She has a high volleyball IQ and constantly working to improve her game to make her impactful at our level. Her ceiling is high and I'm looking forward to help her reach her full potential."

Cayla Gutche | Burlington, Wis. | Burlington HS
Barea on Gutche: "Gutche is from one of the top programs and winning traditions in the state. She is a competitor and selfless teammate that wants to be the best she can be. She will add ball control to our team as she has experience as a DS and setter."
- Helped Burlington become State Champions in 2017 and 2018
- Team also won conference in 2018 and 2019
Melanie Monaco | St. Thomas, Wis. | St. Thomas More High School
Barea on Monaco: "Mel is a 6-rotation pin that already ball controls at an extremely high level. She is an extremely hard worker, has a hammer of an arm and we expect her to make an impact for many years to come."

Jessica Pappas | Frankfort, Ill. | Lincoln-Way East
Barea on Pappas: "Jess was our earliest commit and immediately wanted to be a part of our program from the moment she stepped on campus. She has an elite arm and comes from top-level training. She will no-doubt raise the level in our gym."

- Named the team's Offensive Player of the Year in 2018 and 2019
- Named the Team MVP and Coach MVP in 2019
- Helped her team become Regional Champions in 2016 and 2017

Maggie Rohde | Hortonville, Wis. | Hortonville
Barea on Rohde: "Maggie is someone who came up later in the recruiting process. She has a lot of growth and potential as a volleyball player. Our favorite part about Maggie is her magnifying energy and smile she brings to the court and her teammates."
