Parkside's GLIAC opener was a tough one, as Saginaw Valley State scored early and never looked back. The Cardinals scored three goals in the first half, and added four more in the second to make it a 7-0 final.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Saginaw Valley State showed a balance attack as six different Cardinals found the back of the net on the day. Brianna Bishop, Sakura Bals, and Natalie Nitschmann scored in the first half. Then in the second half, their four goals were scored by Molly Vanderhoff, Jennifer Muanamputu, Andrea Lopez, as well as a second goal from Bals.

Alexis Baker and sophomore
Ariana Severo led the attack for the Rangers, each registering two shots. Parkside's only shot on goal also came from Baker.

Saginaw Valley State had good pressure on goal, that pressure resulted in 23 shots compared to Parkside's seven. The Cardinals were also aggressive on defense, as they committed 18 fouls compared to the Rangers' five.
WHAT'S NEXT
Parkside will look to bounce back at home when they take on Ashland on Sunday, Oct. 6 at noon. Afterward, the team will hit the road to take on Grand Valley State on Oct. 11 at 6 p.m.
