It took overtime to separate the two teams, as the Rangers suffered a heartbreaking loss to Northwood after they led late in regulation.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Northwood jumped out to an early 1-0 lead as they scored in the 17
th minute. The Timberwolves held on tight to the lead until the Rangers found an equalizer late in the second half when senior
Jazmin Castanon scored in the 72
nd minute. Parkside used the momentum from their first goal and scored a second in the 79
th minute, again coming from Castanon, giving them the 2-1 lead. It looked like the Rangers were going to come away with their first GLIAC win of the season, until Northwood found a late equalizer of their own. The goal came in the 88
th minute, sending the game into overtime at 2-2. The Timberwolves then found the winner seven minutes into the first overtime, giving them the 3-2 win.

Castanon's goals were her first two of the season, which puts her in a tie for third on the team in goals scored. Assists on Parkside's goals came from senior
Kaylee Siegel and sophomore
Kendal Ziel.

The two teams couldn't find much separation in the box score either, as Parkside took 12 shots with eight on goal, while Northwood took 11 with eight on goal. Parkside took two corner kicks to Northwood's four, and the teams combined to commit 30 fouls in the game, with the Rangers accounting for 14 of them.

The Rangers will end their long road-trip at Purdue Northwest on Sunday, Oct. 27 at noon. Following the team will head home to take on Michigan Tech at Wood Road Field on Friday, Nov. 1 at 11 a.m.
