Volleyball Stumbles at Red-hot Saginaw Valley State

SAGINAW VALLEY STATE 3, PARKSIDE 1
Parkside volleyball couldn't slow down SVSU, who won their sixth straight with the 3-1 win over the Rangers on Saturday. After dropping the first two sets 25-17 and 25-19, the Rangers battled to take the third set 25-17, but the Cardinals were able to take the fourth with a score of 25-20.

HEAR FROM COACH BAREA
"We battled really well today against a very good and senior heavy SVSU team," second year head coach Leigh Barea said. "I'm really proud at the adjustments the team made throughout the entire match. We will focus on making those adjustments quicker and shortening teams' run of points against us. Overall, it was a good weekend and we are looking forward to creating some momentum at the Crossover this weekend."

STATWORTHY
Junior Rachel Hedman had a team-high 16 kills while sophomore Jazmine Neal had 13 kills and just two errors and freshman Reese Rossnagel had 10. Freshman Alysha Brickl led the way with 23 assists while Ann Leo had 18 digs. As a team, the Rangers hit .190 while the Cardinals hit .285 and went over .300 in all three of their winning sets.
