INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Parkside wrestling went 1-2 at the Indianapolis Duals on Saturday after facing three straight ranked opponents. Parkside took down No. 11 Tiffin in the match of the day, but eventually fell to No. 15 Maryville and No. 4 McKendree. No. 10 Airk Furseth went 3-0, the lone Ranger to do so.

In the first match of the day, the Rangers took down No. 11 Tiffin behind a strong outing from the back end of the lineup. After a Tiffin decision at 125, No. 10 Airk Furseth had a 16-0 technical fall followed by a major decision by Robby Mutimer, but Tiffin won three straight matches to take the lead. Connor Price earned a 4-2 decision and sparked four straight victories by the Rangers. No. 11 James Lehman won an 11-1 major decision, followed by a Job Ayala pin and a Joe Foret decision. Tiffin had ranked wrestlers at 149, 184 and 197.
 
In the second match, the Rangers fell to Maryville, who came in ranked No. 15 in the nation. Maryville took three of the first four matches of the day, as Airk Furseth's win had Parkside down 13-3 early on. Christian Robertson won a 7-1 decision at 157, followed by a Maryville win at 165 and Price earning his second win of the day at 174, a 5-3 sudden victory at 174. Job Ayala earned a forfeit win at 197, so it came down to the heavyweight dual, but Maryville won a 3-2 decision. Maryville had three ranked wrestlers at 125 165 and 197.
 
In the final match of the day for the Rangers, it was all McKendree, who came in ranked No. 4 in the nation. Furseth continued his impressive day with a 14-5 major decision at 133, but that was the only victory Parkside saw. McKendree had ranked wrestlers in eight of the 10 weight classes.
